Sofa cleaning on your doorstep in Cobham

The sofa is probably the hardest working piece of furniture in the house. It is where the family watches films, where the dog naps in the afternoon and where coffee occasionally goes over. It can look perfectly presentable from across the room and still be holding body oils, pet hair, crumbs and allergens deep in the fabric, which is why the arms and the front edge of the seats are usually the first places to darken.

Surrey Hills Cleaning cleans upholstery in homes all over Cobham, Stoke d’Abernon, Church Cobham, Street Cobham, Downside and Fairmile. We are based in neighbouring Oxshott, so getting to you is easy, and we clean everything where it stands. There is no collecting, no van trip to a workshop and no weeks without your furniture.

Furniture and fabrics we clean

We clean sofas of every size, corner sofas included, along with armchairs, dining chairs, footstools, ottomans and upholstered headboards. Delicate fabrics such as velvet, wool, silk and linen are no problem, and we also clean leather sofas and chairs. Each material gets a method suited to it, so it gets a deep clean without the finish being put at risk.

Not sure what your sofa is covered in? Tell John when you book, and if there is a care label, a photo of it helps. We can advise before the day so there are no surprises. If a bed needs freshening as well, our mattress cleaning can be added to the same appointment.

Brushed in, then rinsed out at 120°C

Spraying a product on and vacuuming it straight back up only reaches the top of the fabric. Our process goes further.

  • Vacuum and pre-treat. Seats, arms, backs and crevices are vacuumed, then a conditioning pre-spray goes on to start loosening grime, and individual marks are spot treated.
  • Agitate. We work the solution into the fibres with an upholstery brush so it gets down to the dirt beneath the surface.
  • Extract. Our Power-Flex Storm 800psi machine rinses the fabric with hot water extraction at 120°C, pulling out dirt, allergens and solution together and killing dust mites and bacteria.
  • Groom and dry. Fibres are groomed for an even finish, and we bring a turbo dryer fan if drying needs a boost.

Stain treatment and deodoriser are part of every job, not extras. The products we use are toxic and caustic-free, so they are safe around children and pets, and we choose eco-friendly options wherever we can.

What upholstery cleaning costs in Cobham

Our prices are fixed and the same wherever you are in KT11:

  • Two-seater sofa: £110
  • Three-seater sofa: £130
  • Four-seater sofa: £140
  • Armchair: £45

Every sofa price covers all the cushions, cleaned front and back, plus the whole base. Our minimum charge for any job is £110, which covers bringing and setting up the equipment, so a single armchair on its own is charged at £110. Pairing a sofa with an armchair or two is far better value.

Plenty of Cobham customers also book carpet cleaning in Cobham on the same visit, and if your hall or kitchen floor is Amtico or LVT, our Amtico floor cleaning in Cobham can be done at the same time.

Protecting a freshly cleaned sofa

Once the fabric is clean, we strongly recommend a soil protector such as Scotchgard. It leaves a barrier on the fibres so spills sit on the surface long enough to blot away, and everyday dirt has a harder time working in. For a sofa it costs roughly £70 to £80, depending on the size, and it means longer gaps between cleans.

Drying time varies with the fabric and how soiled it was. Hot water extraction leaves much less moisture behind than home machines, and we will let you know before we go when the sofa is ready to sit on.

Why not just hire a machine?

Supermarket sprays and hired machines can help with a fresh spill, but they rarely shift older stains, pet smells or years of daily use. Some off-the-shelf products are too strong for certain fabrics and leave fading or patches, and it is very easy to overwet a cushion at home, which leaves it slow to dry and smelling damp. Professional extraction removes far more of what is in the fibres and handles velvet, wool, silk and leather safely. For a sofa that simply looks tired, a clean is usually a fraction of the cost of replacing it.

FAQs

Sofa and upholstery cleaning in Cobham: FAQs

How much is sofa cleaning in Cobham?

A two-seater is £110, a three-seater £130 and a four-seater £140, including every cushion front and back plus the base. Armchairs are £45. Our minimum charge for any job is £110.

Do you clean leather sofas?

Yes. We clean leather sofas and chairs, using a method suited to leather rather than the fabric process, so the finish is protected.

Can you clean a velvet sofa?

Yes. We clean velvet, wool, silk and linen regularly and adjust the method to the fabric. If you are unsure what yours is, tell us when you book.

How much does Scotchgard cost for a sofa?

Roughly £70 to £80, depending on the size of the sofa. It helps the fabric repel spills and stains after cleaning.

Will cleaning get rid of the dog smell on my sofa?

In most cases it makes a big difference. We clean into the fibres where the smell sits, deodoriser is included, and extraction at 120°C kills the bacteria that often cause lingering odours. We will be honest about what to expect on very old problems.

How long before we can sit on the sofa?

It depends on the fabric and how dirty it was. Extraction removes most of the moisture during the clean, and we use a turbo dryer fan if needed. We will tell you before we leave.

Do you take the furniture away?

No. Everything is cleaned in your Cobham home, so there is nothing to move or collect.
