Your local upholstery cleaner in Fetcham

Fetcham sits just across the River Mole from Leatherhead, with Bookham on one side and the open country towards Effingham on the other. Our base in Oxshott is a few miles away, so we are in and around the village regularly, cleaning sofas, armchairs and dining chairs for families, couples and landlords alike.

When you ring, you speak to John, who will talk you through what your furniture needs and give you straight advice on what is achievable.

What we can clean

Most of our Fetcham bookings are for the main sofa, but we clean far more than that:

  • Two, three and four seater sofas, including corner sofas
  • Armchairs and accent chairs
  • Dining chairs with fabric seats or backs
  • Footstools and ottomans
  • Upholstered headboards
  • Leather sofas and chairs
  • Mattresses, if you want a bed done on the same day

We work with velvet, wool, silk and linen as well as everyday synthetic fabrics, adapting the approach to each one. If you are unsure what a piece is covered in, a photo of the label sent on WhatsApp is usually enough for John to advise.

Prices: what you pay in Fetcham

Two-seater sofas cost £110, three-seaters £130 and four-seaters £140. That covers all the cushions, front and back, and the full base, not just the seat pads. Armchairs are £45 each.

The minimum charge for any visit is £110, which covers bringing the machine and setting it up. That is why so many people add an armchair, a rug or a mattress to their sofa clean: the extra items cost less once the equipment is already in the house. Scotchgard protection is extra, at roughly £70 to £80 per sofa depending on size.

Stain treatment and deodoriser are already in the price, and if we spot anything we think will not come out fully, we tell you before we start rather than after.

Why our results last

The difference is in the brushing. Before anything is rinsed out, we pre-vacuum, apply a conditioning pre-spray, treat individual marks, and then work that solution into the fabric with an upholstery brush so it actually reaches the soil. Spraying and sucking straight back up leaves much of the dirt where it was.

Then comes hot water extraction at 120°C with our Power-Flex Storm 800psi machine. It flushes out the loosened dirt along with the solution and kills bacteria and dust mites living in the padding and fibres. We finish by grooming the pile, and we bring a turbo dryer fan for fabrics that need help drying. Every job comes with stain treatment and deodoriser at no extra cost.

Pets, children and stubborn marks

Fetcham has plenty of family homes, and family sofas take a beating: juice, chocolate, muddy paws and the general wear of film nights. Our cleaning agents are toxic and caustic-free and eco-friendly, so the children and the dog can be back on the sofa once it has dried.

Pet odours usually come from bacteria in the fabric, which is exactly what high temperature extraction deals with. Older stains depend on what caused them and how long they have been there, and we will always tell you honestly what to expect before we start.

Leather and delicate upholstery

A velvet sofa or a silk and linen armchair is not something to risk with a hired machine or a spray from the supermarket. Strong ingredients can fade some fabrics, and too much water can leave them flat or watermarked. We are Woolsafe approved, with a Woolsafe Registered Inspector, and we tailor the method to the material so it is cleaned properly without harming the finish. Leather furniture gets its own approach to protect the surface.

The same care applies to newer sofas with light coloured or textured weaves, which are popular in modern living rooms but show every mark. A professional clean early on, followed by Scotchgard, is the easiest way to keep a pale sofa looking the way it did when it arrived.

Why bother

Reasons to have your upholstery professionally cleaned

Done in your living room

No van trips or days without a sofa. We clean the furniture where it stands.

Deeper than any spray

Brush agitation and 800psi extraction remove grime from inside the fabric, not just the surface.

Kind to the household

Toxic and caustic-free agents mean it is safe for children and pets once dry.

Cheaper than replacing

A tired sofa usually needs a proper clean, not a new frame and fabric.

FAQs

Questions about sofa cleaning in Fetcham

What does it cost to clean a three-seater sofa in Fetcham?

£130, including every cushion cleaned front and back and the whole base. Two-seaters are £110 and four-seaters £140.

Is Scotchgard worth adding?

We highly recommend it. It helps the fabric repel spills so marks are easier to deal with and you can go longer between cleans. It costs roughly £70 to £80 per sofa, depending on size.

Can you clean just one armchair?

Yes. An armchair is £45, but our minimum charge for any visit is £110, so it is worth adding a sofa, a rug or a mattress to make the most of the trip.

Will cleaning damage my velvet sofa?

No. We clean velvet, wool, silk and linen regularly and adapt the method to the fabric. Let us know the material when you book so we can plan for it.

How long before we can sit on the sofa again?

That varies with the fabric and how soiled the sofa was. Extraction removes most of the moisture, we use a dryer fan if needed, and we will tell you when it is ready before we leave.

Do you clean leather furniture?

Yes, we clean leather sofas and chairs using a method that protects the finish.

Do you cover Bookham and Leatherhead as well?

Yes. We clean upholstery throughout the area, including Bookham and Leatherhead.
