Upholstery cleaning in Ashtead, without moving a thing

A sofa takes more daily punishment than almost anything else in the house. Body oils, crumbs, pet hair and spills work their way into the fabric, and before long the headrests look shiny and the seat cushions have gone a shade darker than the back. Surrey Hills Cleaning brings everything needed to put that right to your door, so there is no van to load, no furniture to send away and no week without somewhere to sit.

We are a local carpet and upholstery cleaning business based in Oxshott, just a few miles from Ashtead, and we clean sofas, armchairs, dining chairs, footstools, ottomans and upholstered headboards across KT21. Owner John will talk you through what your furniture needs before anything starts, so you know exactly what to expect.

Leather, velvet, linen and everything in between

Not every sofa can be treated the same way, and that is where a careful cleaner earns their keep. We clean leather sofas and chairs, and we are comfortable with delicate fabrics such as velvet, wool, silk and linen. For each one we adjust the method so the fabric gets a proper deep clean without risking the finish, the colour or the pile.

If you are not sure what your three-piece suite is covered in, that is fine. Mention it when you get in touch, send a photo of the label if you can find one, and we will advise. Armchairs, a spare-room chair or a tired footstool can all be added to a sofa clean on the same visit.

How a sofa clean works, step by step

Plenty of cleaners spray a product on and suck it straight back up again. Our process goes further. Every piece is pre-vacuumed, including down the sides and into the crevices, then pre-sprayed with a conditioning solution that starts breaking down grime immediately. Marks and spills are spot treated on their own.

Next comes the part many firms skip: we work the solution into the fibres with an upholstery brush so it actually reaches the dirt sitting deep in the fabric. Only then do we rinse, using hot water extraction at 120°C from our Power-Flex Storm 800psi machine. The heat and pressure flush out soil, allergens and cleaning solution together, and kill dust mites and bacteria. Stain treatment and deodoriser are included every time, and our cleaning agents are toxic and caustic-free, so the room is safe for children and pets afterwards.

Sofa and armchair prices in Ashtead

Our upholstery prices are fixed and the same wherever you are in Ashtead:

  • Two-seater sofa: £110
  • Three-seater sofa: £130
  • Four-seater sofa: £140
  • Armchair: £45

Each sofa price includes every cushion, cleaned on both sides, plus the whole base. The smallest job we take on is £110, which pays for bringing the machine to Ashtead and setting it up, so pairing an armchair with a two-seater, or adding a mattress clean, is good value.

Scotchgard and drying times

Once a sofa is clean, the best way to keep it that way is a soil protector. We highly recommend Scotchgard, which forms a barrier that helps the fabric shrug off spills, so a dropped glass of squash becomes a quick blot rather than a stain. For a sofa it costs roughly £70 to £80, depending on size.

Drying depends on the fabric and how dirty it was. Hot water extraction pulls most of the moisture out as we go, which is why it dries far quicker than a soaking from a hired machine. If needed, we set up a turbo dryer fan, and we will let you know before we leave when it is fine to sit down again.

Dogs, children and the hard-working family sofa

With Ashtead Common and Ashtead Park on the doorstep, a lot of local dogs come home muddy and head straight for the settee. Pet odours tend to live in the fibres and the padding rather than on the surface, which is why a wipe or a fabric spray rarely shifts them. Cleaning into the fibres, with deodoriser as standard and heat that kills the bacteria behind most lingering smells, gives a far better result.

Shop-bought sprays can also fade or mark some fabrics, and it is very easy to overwet a cushion at home and leave it smelling damp. Professional extraction avoids both. Results on old stains depend on the fabric and how long they have been there, but we will always be honest with you about what is realistic.

FAQs

Sofa cleaning in Ashtead: your questions

How much is sofa cleaning in Ashtead?

A two-seater is £110, a three-seater £130 and a four-seater £140, with every cushion cleaned front and back plus the base. Armchairs are £45. Any job has a £110 minimum to cover setting up the equipment.

Can you clean a leather sofa?

Yes. We clean leather sofas and chairs and adapt the method so the leather is cleaned thoroughly without harming its finish.

Is it safe to clean a velvet or linen sofa?

Yes, with the right approach. We regularly clean velvet, wool, silk and linen, adjusting the process for each fabric. If you are unsure what yours is, tell us when you book.

How much does Scotchgard cost for a sofa?

Roughly £70 to £80, depending on the size of the sofa. It helps the fabric repel spills and stains, so you can go longer between cleans.

Can you get rid of a dog smell from my sofa?

In most cases, yes. We clean into the fibres where the odour sits, include deodoriser as standard, and the 120°C extraction kills the bacteria that usually cause the smell.

Do I have to send my sofa away?

No. Everything is cleaned in your home, so there is nothing to move or collect.

How long until we can use the sofa?

It depends on the fabric, but extraction removes most of the moisture during the clean and we bring a turbo dryer fan if needed. We will tell you when it is ready before we go.

Which areas around Ashtead do you cover?

All of KT21, plus Headley and Epsom. We also clean upholstery in Leatherhead and Bookham.
