Upholstery cleaning for Leatherhead homes

Surrey Hills Cleaning is a local carpet and upholstery business run by John from Oxshott, only a few miles up the road from Leatherhead town centre. We clean in houses and flats right across the KT22 area, from the streets near the River Mole to the roads heading out towards Ashtead and Fetcham, and out to Mickleham and Headley.

Everything is done in your home. There is nothing to load into a car and no week without a sofa, because we bring the machine to you and clean the furniture where it stands.

Why a sofa needs more than a quick wipe

Most of what makes a sofa grubby is invisible from the doorway: body oils, pet hair, crumbs and dust worked down into the weave. Because it is used every single day, that grime settles in fast and shows first on the arms, the front edge of the seats and the headrests.

Home sprays tend to move the dirt around rather than remove it, and it is easy to overwet the fabric, which leaves it slow to dry, flat or smelling damp. Professional extraction pulls far more out of the fibres and leaves much less moisture behind. For most tired sofas it is also a great deal cheaper than buying a new one.

Our method: agitated, not just sprayed

Plenty of cleaners spray a solution on and vacuum it straight back up. We go further:

  • Check the fabric and any stains, and tell you what we plan to do.
  • Pre-vacuum the seats, arms, backs and crevices.
  • Pre-spray and spot treat with a conditioning solution that starts loosening grime and marks.
  • Agitate the solution into the fibres with an upholstery brush.
  • Extract with hot water at 120°C using our Power-Flex Storm 800psi machine, which rinses out dirt and solution together and kills dust mites and bacteria.
  • Groom and dry, using a turbo dryer fan where needed.

Stain treatment and deodoriser are included on every job, and our cleaning agents are toxic and caustic-free, so they are safe around children and pets.

Sofa and upholstery prices

  • Two-seater sofa£110
  • Three-seater sofa£130
  • Four-seater sofa£140
  • Armchair£45

Sofa prices include every cushion, cleaned front and back, plus the whole base. Scotchgard for a sofa is roughly £70 to £80, depending on size. Our minimum charge for any job is £110, which covers bringing and setting up the equipment.

Armchairs, leather and delicate fabrics

We clean sofas of every size, armchairs, dining chairs, footstools, ottomans and upholstered headboards. Velvet, wool, silk and linen all need a gentler touch, and we adjust the method for each so the fabric gets a thorough clean without risking the finish. We clean leather sofas and chairs as well.

Not sure what your three-piece suite is made of? Tell John when you book and he will advise. We are Woolsafe approved, with a Woolsafe Registered Inspector, so natural fibres are in safe hands.

Dining chairs are a good example of furniture people forget about. Fabric seats around a family table collect spills, crumbs and greasy fingermarks at every meal, and a set of six can look transformed after a clean. Upholstered headboards are another, since they quietly soak up hair products and skin oils night after night. Both can be added to a sofa booking, and John will price them when you call.

Sofa cleaning prices in Leatherhead

Our prices are fixed and the same across Leatherhead:

  • Two-seater sofa: £110
  • Three-seater sofa: £130
  • Four-seater sofa: £140
  • Armchair: £45

Every sofa price covers all the cushions, cleaned on both sides, and the whole base. Our minimum charge for any job is £110, which pays for bringing and setting up the equipment, so adding an armchair to a sofa clean is good value. Many people also have a mattress done at the same time; see our mattress cleaning page.

Scotchgard and drying times

How long a sofa takes to dry depends on the fabric and how dirty it was, but extraction leaves far less water behind than DIY methods, and we will tell you when it is ready to use before we leave.

Once it is clean, we highly recommend a soil protector such as Scotchgard. It helps the fabric shed spills so marks wipe away more easily and you can go longer between cleans. Expect to pay roughly £70 to £80 per sofa, with bigger sofas at the top of that range.

Why it is worth it

What a professional upholstery clean gives you

Fresher fabric

Odours are tackled in the fibres where they sit, not masked on the surface, and deodoriser comes as standard.

Fewer allergens

Hot water extraction at 120°C kills dust mites and bacteria and lifts allergens out of the fabric.

Safer for delicate pieces

Velvet, wool, silk, linen and leather each get a method suited to the material.

A longer life for your suite

Taking out the grit and body oils that wear fabric down helps a good suite last longer.

FAQs

Sofa and upholstery cleaning in Leatherhead: FAQs

How much is sofa cleaning in Leatherhead?

We charge £110 for a two-seater, £130 for a three-seater and £140 for a four-seater, with all cushions and the base cleaned. An armchair is £45, and the smallest job we take on costs £110.

What does Scotchgard add to the price?

Roughly £70 to £80 per sofa, depending on its size. We apply it after cleaning so the fabric repels spills and stains.

Can you clean a leather sofa?

Yes. We clean leather sofas and chairs, adjusting the method to protect the finish while still giving it a thorough clean.

Do you clean velvet and other delicate fabrics?

Yes. We regularly clean velvet, wool, silk and linen. Let us know the fabric when you book, or send a photo of the care label, and John will advise.

Can you get rid of dog smells from a sofa?

Usually, yes. Lingering sofa smells often come from bacteria in the fabric, and 120°C extraction kills them, while the deodoriser, included as standard, neutralises what is left. We will be honest about what to expect from older stains.

How often should I have my sofa cleaned?

Most homes benefit from a clean every 12 to 18 months. If you have pets or young children, more often helps keep on top of stains and smells.

Do you come to Ashtead and Fetcham too?

Yes. We cover all the villages around Leatherhead, with pages for Ashtead and Fetcham, and we are based nearby in Oxshott.
