Every fibre needs a different approach
A one-size-fits-all clean is how carpets get damaged. We check what your carpet is made of before we start, and adjust the products, the moisture and the agitation to suit it. We clean:
- Wool and wool blends, with pH neutral, Woolsafe approved solutions. We are Woolsafe approved, with a Woolsafe Registered Inspector.
- Synthetic carpets such as polypropylene, nylon and polyester, which respond well to hot water extraction at 120°C and can take more intensive stain treatment.
- Delicate fibres including viscose, silk, Tencel and bamboo, where we keep agitation and moisture to a minimum to protect the pile and the dyes.
If we think a carpet or rug needs special care, we will tell you before we begin, and explain what results you can expect.
What happens on the day
We arrive with all the equipment and start with a thorough pre-vacuum to lift the dry soil. A conditioning pre-spray goes down next, and stubborn marks such as coffee, ink or pet stains are treated individually.
Then comes the part that makes the difference: we brush the solution into the carpet so it reaches the dirt at the base of the pile. Agitated, not just sprayed. Our Power-Flex Storm 800psi machine then rinses the carpet with hot water at 120°C, extracting the dirt and solution and killing bacteria and dust mites.
Finally, we groom the fibres so they dry evenly, and set up our turbo dryer fan if needed. Most carpets are dry within a few hours. Stain treatment and deodoriser are always included, and our cleaning agents are eco-friendly and free from harsh or caustic chemicals, so they are safe with children and pets.
Keep the room ventilated while it dries and try not to walk on the carpet until it is fully dry. If you have to cross it, clean socks are better than shoes, and wait before putting furniture back so it does not leave marks.

Looking after period and modern homes
