We look before we clean
No two carpets are the same, so we never start spraying the moment we walk in. On every Esher job we follow the same order:

- Extract. Our Power-Flex Storm 800psi machine rinses the fibres with hot water at 120°C, flushing out dirt and bacteria and killing dust mites, without leaving the carpet soaking wet.
- Groom and dry. The fibres are groomed so they lie the same way, which looks better and helps them dry. Drying usually takes a few hours, and we bring a turbo dryer fan if needed.
Stain treatment and deodoriser come as standard, so there are no extras sprung on you on the day.

Why a hire machine is not the same thing
Plenty of people in Esher have tried a carpet cleaner hired from a supermarket or DIY shop. They can freshen the surface, but they have far less power than professional equipment, and the job takes a whole weekend. It is also easy to put down too much water and not get it back out, which leaves carpets slow to dry and can bring old marks back to the surface.

Keeping carpets cleaner for longer
Once a carpet or rug is clean, a soil protector or Scotchgard is well worth considering. It helps the fibres shed dirt and spills, so marks are easier to deal with and you can go longer between cleans. For a sofa, Scotchgard costs roughly £70 to £80 depending on its size. Most homes benefit from a professional carpet clean every 6 to 12 months, and sooner on stairs and in hallways or if you have pets or young children.
Between cleans, vacuum often, especially on the stairs and in the hall, and blot spills straight away rather than rubbing them. Rubbing spreads a stain and pushes it deeper into the pile, which makes it harder to lift later.

Yes. We inspect every carpet before we start, and if a stain looks like it may be permanent we tell you then. Most marks lift with spot treatment, agitation and hot water extraction, and if you are not 100 per cent satisfied we will re-clean.
Is professional cleaning better than hiring a carpet cleaner?
