Carpet and upholstery cleaners covering Cranleigh

Cranleigh is a large Surrey village between Guildford and Horsham, with everything from period cottages to modern family homes, and plenty of smaller villages around it. Surrey Hills Cleaning cleans carpets, upholstery, rugs and mattresses across Cranleigh and the GU6 area, for homes and businesses.

We are a local, owner-run company. John runs the business from Oxshott, deals with every enquiry himself and takes real pride in the work. Much of what we do comes from repeat customers and recommendations, and we have earned a 5.0 rating from 360 Google reviews by turning up when we say we will, giving honest advice and doing the job properly.

Family homes, children and pets

Most of the carpets we clean around Cranleigh belong to busy households. Children, dogs, muddy boots from the countryside and everyday spills all end up in the pile, and vacuuming only reaches the top of it. Underneath, carpets hold grit, pet hair, dust mites and the residue of every accident, which is why they start to look flat and grey in the lounge, on the stairs and in the hallway.

Our cleaning agents are free from harsh or caustic chemicals, so they are safe with children and pets, and hot water extraction rinses them out instead of leaving a sticky residue that attracts more dirt. Pet accidents and food stains are treated individually before the main clean, and a deodoriser comes as standard to neutralise smells rather than cover them up. If a mark has been there a long time and is likely to be permanent, we will tell you before we start.

Why we agitate before we rinse

Plenty of carpet cleaners spray a solution onto the carpet and suck it straight back out. We do it differently. After a thorough pre-vacuum, we apply a conditioning pre-spray and spot treat individual marks, then work the solution into the fibres with a brush. That agitation breaks the bond between the dirt and the fibre, so when we rinse, the dirt actually comes out.

The rinse is hot water extraction at 120°C, using our Power-Flex Storm 800psi machine. It flushes out the loosened soil and the cleaning solution together, and the heat kills dust mites and bacteria. We then groom the pile for an even finish. Stain treatment and deodoriser are included on every clean, so there are no extras added on the day.

Carpets are normally dry within a few hours, depending on the carpet and how dirty it was, and we use a turbo dryer fan if you need the room back sooner. We recommend a soil protector such as Scotchgard afterwards, to help the carpet resist dirt and spills.

Getting the most from a visit to Cranleigh

Cranleigh is a good drive from Oxshott, through the Surrey Hills, so we cannot always come at short notice. We are often booked up ahead and plan our trips to this side of the county in advance. If you get in touch early and can offer a choice of days, we can usually find a date that works.

It is also worth thinking about everything you want doing before we arrive. Our minimum charge is £110 for any job, which covers bringing and setting up the equipment, and it is the same in Cranleigh as anywhere else. A single room on its own will be charged at the minimum, so many customers add the stairs, a sofa or a mattress to the same visit. Our room and furniture prices are the same as everywhere else we work.

Sofas, dining chairs and other soft furnishings

We clean sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, dining chairs, footstools, ottomans and upholstered headboards, in fabric and in leather. On a sofa we clean every cushion front and back, plus the whole base, so nothing gets missed. Each piece is pre-sprayed and worked with an upholstery brush before it is steam cleaned, and we adjust the method to suit the fabric, including delicate materials such as velvet, wool and linen.

Everything is cleaned in your home, so there is no need to take anything away. For sofas, the main stain protector we offer is Scotchgard, which is roughly £70 to £80 depending on the size of the sofa.

What carpet cleaning costs in Cranleigh

Our prices are fixed and the same wherever we work. Any room, whether a bedroom, lounge or dining room, is £45. Stairs and landing are £45. A 2-bed house with stairs and landing is £170, and a 3-bed is £215. Rugs start from £50 depending on size, and armchairs are £45. Sofas are £110 for a two-seater, £130 for a three-seater and £140 for a four-seater. Mattresses are from £40 for a single, £55 for a double and £65 for a king or queen.

Every job has a minimum charge of £110. For a free, no-obligation quote, call John on 07584 551 784, message us on WhatsApp or ask for a call-back. We are open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5:30pm.

The difference

Why Cranleigh homes book a professional clean

Safe around the family

Cleaning agents with no harsh or caustic chemicals, rinsed out by hot water extraction, so children and pets can use the room once it is dry.

Pet smells tackled at source

Pet accidents are pre-treated individually and a deodoriser is included, so odours are neutralised in the fibres rather than masked.

Muddy traffic lanes lifted

Agitation loosens the ground-in grit from hallways and stairs, and the 120°C rinse carries it away.

Honest advice

We tell you before we start if a stain is likely to be permanent, and we re-do any clean you are not 100 per cent happy with.
